From the Ground Up

So here I am again, almost a year later from my last post. I was about to delete this entire blog, but instead went back and read all my previous entries. I thought about deleting some of them, but then thought why? These are my thoughts and feelings I felt important enough to record since 2011. I'm terrible at journaling. So I might as well keep what I have done. My favorite posts are the ones I left a music video with that inspired me to write. So I thought... what song has been nurturing to my soul lately? My current favorite is From the Ground Up by Dan & Shay. My sister put it in a photo slideshow for my Grandmother's surprise birthday party. And ever since, I've loved it!

Lyrics:
Grandma and grandpa painted a picture
Of 65 years and one little house
More than a memory
More than saying I do
Kiss you goodnight’s and I love you’s
Me and you baby, will walk in their footsteps
Build our own family
One day at a time
Ten little toes, a painted pink room
Our beautiful baby looks just like you.

Chorus:
And we’ll build this love from the ground up
Now ’til forever
It’s all of me, all of you
Just take my hand
And I’ll be the man your dad hoped that I’d be
And we’ll build this love from the ground up
For worse or for better
And I will be all you need
Beside you I’ll stand
through the good and the bad
We’ll give all that we have
And we’ll build this love from the ground up.

This life will go by in the blink of an eye
But I wouldn’t wanna spend it without you by my side
The clouds are gonna roll
The earth’s gonna shake
But I’ll be your shelter through the wind and the rain.

(Chorus)

Someday we’ll wake up
With thousands of pictures
65 years in this little house
I won’t trade for nothing, the life that we built
I’ll kiss you goodnight and say I love you still.

(Chorus)

This is one of those songs I can see people getting married to or having their first dance to.

Any who- so now I'm gearing up for my 2nd year teaching Pre-K at a brand new school! I'm so psyched! I am hoping this year goes better than last. I had no idea what I was doing and now that I have had a year experience and saw the results in my students' growth, I have a better idea of how I can improve as a teacher!

In my personal life, I'm trying to get back into the online dating scene. I'm trying no to talk about it anymore, to not jinx my luck! If things get serious, then I'll talk about it. ;)

Tomorrow I"ll spend my day doing laundry and packing for Ohio. I can't wait! I'm finally going to meet baby Mahley! (My best friend, Andrea's, little girl! She's a little over 3 months- and it's killing me that I have yet to hold her!)

Well- I'm running out of things to write and getting bored. Peace out.
